2008 Graduation

The 2008 Valedictory Service was held at Aldersgate Methodist Church, Saturday, June 14. Three students graduated from the Primary School, and one from the High School.

Aldersgate Methodist Church was filled to capacity as parents, relatives and well-wishers witnessed the graduation of four talented young men.
Sixth Graders Cody Armbrister, Senario Bethel and Christopher Smith, along with Michael Alexander Wilmore, the sole High School graduate marched into the church, while the school band played Elger's "Pomp and Circumstance."
Devotions were led by the students, with the school's text, Phillipians 4:8 being recited in English and Spanish.
Vice-Principal, Mrs. Vernelle Carey warmly welcomed all.

District Superintendent Ms. Lenora Black gave remarks, commenting on the significance of the all male group, and the prominence of males at other graduations on Abaco. She saw this as an indication that Abaco was leading the nation in the develpoment of outstanding males.
In his Primary Valedictorian's Address, Senario Bethel described the beauty of the Bahamas, and the many activities one can enjoy here.
In his charge, Reverend Carey reminded the audience of the teamwork between parents, teachers and students required for aademic success. He said parents are the key to solbing most of the social ills being experienced in our country.

Reverend Stephen Knowles and Pastor Mario Bethel (father of Senario Bethel) joined Reverend Carey in the blessing of the graduates.
The Vote of Thanks was given by eleventh grader and prefect, Denton Gay, who will spend a month in Costa Rica as part of the foreign language cadet programme.
